In the summer I visited the Western Heights during an activity weekend. There was a series of events, mainly using re-enactors demonstrating weapons and equipment.
I was on a mission to meet Phil Eyden and see how I could work with the museums resources.
On the second day of the weekend, I had a longer investigation of the Heights (the previous day was a bit of a washout).
The spaces are intriguing. You can’t help speculating on the people that used the space. Some deliberately leave their mark.
Others accidentally. In the Armoury, there is a circle, about 8 feet up on the wall, described by a series of dots. It’s where a dartboard used to be. You can just make out the circle in this image, the small dots where missing darts landed.
