Here a quick visual update concerning the design development of the friendly army. Unlike in the initial collages, the form of each character is now more specifically related to elements that exist on, or have disappeared from the site.

Track signage and the war memorials in Sheperdswell and Eythorne inspired Cross. What looks like the eyes of Receiver are actually ears – similar to the pre-radar sound mirrors, which can be found in the Dover region. Tower refers to the long-lost vertical headgear structures of the Tilmanstone and Guilford collieries, Shelter to the remaining and ruined WW2 shell stores. Organ translates the Howitzer canons that occupied the site during WW2 into a far less belligerent aeolian instrument.

They are all still on legs, though.
