Here is my belated agreed proposal for the Dover Transport Museum 🙂 I’ve been drawing, making digital collages and flip book ideas for my book which i’ll describe below. It’s coming along slowly but surely. The biggest part it making the research child friendly!
I will use my research to produce a friendly resource introducing the WW1 objects at the Dover Transport Museum to children from school visits. The resource will be a publication that children aged 7+ can use as a guide for accessing the museum’s WW1 objects only. I will examine the Sunbeam bicycle, Blériot monoplane and Pierce Arrow lorry within this publication. I aim to create a publication that demonstrates how these objects were used and how important they were back in WW1. I will also cross-examine the objects with modern technology and using interesting facts to show technological advancements. The publication will be used also as a creative resource for children. They can find games and guides for reflecting on their visit to these WW1 objects and learn about how important a town Dover was in the war.
Here are some images so far… making posters for kids and the museum and postcards in a ‘vintage’ style. I’ve adapted some photographic resources but they’re not quite ready yet. The green Sunbeam is my current flip book.
