After a nearly three month-long hibernation period we had our tenth making workshop at Shepherdswell today. Mark Hopewell and other East Kent Railway volunteers had already done the hard work by moving the six (heavy!) sculptures from the outdoor work area into the former EKR classroom, so that we – i.e. Mark, Gareth, Vincent and I – could get straight into the process of cleaning, spot-welding, putting on a layer of undercoat and spray-painting the Friendly Army. Dragoon even ventured outdoors for a photo shoot briefly. Please click on the slide show below to see some images of today’s work in progress. The winter light was quite magical.
