In preparing for the upcoming visit to Deal, decided to visit the War Artists at Sea exhibition at Queens House. A moving collection from both world wars showing expressive seascapes and portraits of naval figures and architectures. Off the Tulip stairs also found a sequence of textured personal works by artist Rozanne Hawksley titled War and Memory. Together with the new installation of WW1 artifacts in the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich the visit as a whole navigates the complexities of war, offering opportunity to take breath and reflect as you move from one exhibition to another – a form of spatial punctuation.
